So many of you have been sending me messages, "where are you?!" "Are you alive?" I'm here. I'm alive. Life has taken some interesting twists and turns. And here I sit... a different woman who has grown. I've had some changes recently, which have caused me (as it would any girl), to take a step back and re-evaluate my life. I never hold back. So here it is. I am married to my music and my career. I was also married to a man. It was like gasoline and fire. Both are necessary at times to comfort you in one way or another, but they don't mix. So in the grand scheme of things, one of them decided to go. Guess which one? I think for any musician, we all go through the struggle at one time or another to give our all to the many things around us, which demand our attention, and usually the relationship pays. As was in my case. I give kudos to anyone who is in a relationship with a musician. It is a trying thing, but here's a little advice. If you are in a relationship with a musician, please realize - we don't love the music more than you 'per se,' we just need it to survive and remain the person that you were attracted to in the beginning. Instead of feeling threatened by it, treat us as free birds. Don't try to clip our wings and ground us; try instead to fly with us. We want you there. We enjoy you there, but we must remain able to fly freely or we suffocate. It is not you. It is just what it is. Anyway, that is enough of that. Update on my life: MARRIAGE: As you guessed, I am becoming unmarried soon. I am not happy about it, but I am happy he will find someone less frustrating for him. Hoping he will find his happy little housewife who loves nothing more than to wear dresses, cook and clean, and do laundry and fold his shirts the right way, and jump up to greet him at the door as he returns home from work, with his meal prepared, and a nice back rub waiting for him. God knows, I would've liked to be that girl, (coughs and laughs at herself) but I'm not. And besides, I have a show to get ready for... lol MUSIC: Well, I’ve got a lot going on here, but I'll keep it simple. I just signed a "solo" record deal with Long Live Crime Records in Beverly Hills. I am writing a new album from scratch with a producer "Jeff Sterzer" who is also a member of the band Scarlet Crush. The album is promising so far, and WAY different from the hardcore punk I am so well known to do. I am sad that I will be leaving Franki's Broken Toys behind, but we will do a few more shows until my album is officially released. You know it's so funny, I have to say this. I was SO EXCITED when they did my very first press release I went on the internet and Googled myself... and I found one that ACTUALLY HAD A PICTURE OF ME!!! I clicked on the picture... and as God would find it necessary to humble me at that moment, the picture popped up, and it was of my guitar player Sharon Needles, NOT ME... LOL!!! Well, you win some, you laugh at yourself some other times. I'd rather look at Sharon than me any day of the week... lol TV: Yes... it is true... I've got my own new online TV show called Franki's Broken Toybox on Flashrock.com It's pretty cool, and SO FUN TO DO!!! Log on and watch! I've already done a few episodes on there. D.I., Unit F, My Private Hell, Oedipus, and next week I'll have Amerikan Made on the show. RADIO: And to top it all off, I hosted a radio show a few weeks back. It was pretty nerve wracking and hard to try to sound cool on demand... lol NOW ON TO OTHER STUFF - MUSIC REVIEWS - MY PICK OF THE MONTH: PATSY GRIND, Call It Love (Happy Dagger): Okay, I got this CD in January - and I listened to it, and I loved it. I haven't written since then, and so I feel guilty about it. Here is a link to the bands myspace site: www.myspace.com/patsygrindmusic. They've got some great songs, but my two favorites are Superstar and Save me. The lyrics are absolutely fabulous; it's as though they crawled into my head and wrote songs just for me. These women are the kind of women that make me want to be a musician. They make me want to express myself. They make me want to sing along. They make me "FEEL." Patsy Grinds music is, at the least, SEXY, DIRECT and POWERFUL. Don't cheat yourself, log in and listen. The powerful group of women include: Danielle Silva on Lead Vocals, Sharon Needles on bass and vocals, Leslie Stoddard on lead guitar, and the powerful Judy Cocuzza on the drums. I can't wait to hear more from them. AND IN CLOSING: Society tells me to be a robot... I tell society - you've got enough robots... And my screws are loose anyway... Love you guys...
