May 12, 2004 Thanks to ultra-fab club producers Taime and Ricky for the venue, Bleeding Edge Goth and Lucky 13 for the fantabulous gift bags, and all four bitchin' bands--the Switchblade Kittens, the Randy's, Blare Bitch Project, and the Substitutes--for playin' their cute asses off, the Cool Grrrls CD release party, 4/22/04 at King King in Hollywood was a hoot. And making it hot were Cool Grrrls old and new, Kastle, Alisha and Josi, who Mc'ed the evening and spiced up the festive crowd. Young fans packed in early for the Switchblade Kittens, who have quite the following in LA LA Land. The Randy's stoked the fire next and proved why they are such a Hollywood favorite. They even ended their set with "Boys in Stereo," which is on the CD. Blare Bitch Project went on about 11 and that's when the vampires turned out. The band cranked out a tight, powerhouse set that got everyone going, nocturnals and all. The night ended with Taime's friends, the Substitutes. Down from SF--and definitely not grrrls--these boys more than held their own entertaining this glittery grrrlfest.
