February Girl

February has been a pretty wild month. It all started when Lucky from the New York Waste asked me to be her February girl. The night of our photo-shoot, Lucky drew a lovely bubble bath for me and yours truly indulged in some refreshing Moet White Star champagne. Last week the February issue of the Waste arrived in Williamsburg just in time for Valentine’s Day. After our paper run, Lucky and I headed to Neva for the open bar, Electronica party. The following day, I was sick as a dog and never made it into work. Blame it on the cheap vodka and hectic day job, but I spent the day trying to recuperate. Friday night, Push played at Don Hills. At the show, Bruce Alexander introduced me to Rolan Bolan, son of legendary Marc Bolan from T-Rex.

Saturday night was spent at Seen with my good friend, Karol Khaos a.k.a The Wylde Side of Williamsburg editor. Karol and I managed to bump into almost the same crowd from the previous night, with a few exceptions of course.

Sunday was spent at Teddy’s where the Bloody Mary’s are fantastic! In the evening, Karol and I headed over to Black Betty for dinner, then to the BQE Lounge (Union Pool) where we chit-chatted with several fresh-faced rockabilly boys.

Monday I relaxed.

Fat Tuesday was spent with Lucky, Steve and Karol at Teddy’s. We later stopped by the Bianca Halstead benefit. It was great to see so many fellow female musicians showing their support for this beloved, talented, young lady we were so blessed to have known.

Wednesday night I went to the Cutting Room to see Rolan Bolan’s band. The show was performed acoustically, as well as wonderfully.

Valentine’s Day was spent at Veracruz restaurant followed by a game of pool at Sweet Water tavern.

Today I am sick again! The cold weather and frantic social life has gotten the best of me!

This week wouldn’t be complete without *FASHION WEEK!*

“Tis the season for the 2002 Fall shows.
Personally, my last fashion show was the Anand Jon show a few months ago for Spring 2002 where Jaid Barrymore (Drew Barrymore’s mom) and the Hilton sisters were models at the show. Kori from http://itsrandom.com and I decided to crash the after party at Lotus where we met all sorts of freaky male models. Later, I ended up in an arguement with Nicky Hilton’s boyfriend so we made a quick exit to say the least!!

You see where I am going, don’t you? With all the fashion fiends in NYC, I decided to inform all of you sexy readers with the highlights of the show courtesy of Full Frontal Fashion and Paper.

My basic overall critique is this, “Black is back again?”

Balenciaga: Great shaggy coats for winter.
The creamy dog color works for me!

Betsy Johnson
The Sisters Show: Moulin Rouge meets gypsy chic. She even used her own staff as models!

Imitation of Christ: Heavenly, flowly, colorful pieces.

Calvin Klein: Sleek and Black. Sombre yet stark.

Hugo Boss: Simple detail. Black and white.
Both men and women graced the cat walk.

After Donna Karan’s show, I watched Estee Lauder cover girl, Carolyn Murphy’s interview. She started to get burned out on modeling so she took a long vacation and had a beautiful baby before returning to the fashion world.

Speaking of babies, my sister Holly just gave birth to an adorable little girl named Chloe’ Rayne on February 13th! Congrats!

Mark your calendars for March 28th! The women of color festival will take place at the Atlantic theatre, directed by Eva Minemar.

That’s about all for now. Be good and take care!
