Something’s Brewing at Bobtail
My zine CTB! has organized a small show called “CTB! lounge #001 -APPLE-” at Bobtail, it is one of my favorite pubs, so I decided to do something fun here.
Performers were Storobecore (from Tokyo), Tomomi MG (From Fukui), N-16 (from Kyoto) and Nikki McClure (from Olympia, USA), somehow local was only Storobecore. I want to thank to Tomomi, and N-16 guys, they just came here for playing music.
Tomomi is one of my cool girlfriends, she does music and zines in Fukui. I haven’t heard music for a long time, I heard she has been busy with her daily work. I thought it must be fantastic if she would play at CTB!’s concert. I was SO happy she gladly consented to my offer.
Her play was *fantastic*. It was quite simple, only guitar and her voice. Audience listened to it carefully, nobody talked while she played. Her fragile voice and guitar made me feel melancholy in a beautiful.
I’ve been a fan of Nikki’s art since her first 7 inch single “Godzilla”. I bought it, maybe it was six or seven years ago? Anyways, it was long time ago. I’ve seen her performance in Olympia, WA twice in 1997 and 1999, I was deeply impressed it. She didn’t use any instruments, she used her voice and body only, it inspired me to see music and arts. I’ve never seen like her in Japan, so I wanted to see her performance with Japanese girls, ’cause it would inspired them to do something cool.
…Then, my dream came true, she played a few songs for us! I hope girls enjoyed it as I did.
