leap of faith

Hey all my sexy friends out there! I’m back again! I know it was long before this update came, but finally it’s here. A thousand apologize for my rusty English, but in the last couple of months I only spoke German.

So after 4 months in Ulm, Germany, FINALLY I moved back to my beloved hometown Budapest. I don’t intend to insult any Germans, but I feel deadly certain that Budapest has so much more fun going on; the people are friendlier and nicer; the food is more savoury, we know it better how to have an unforgettable party; we have a better taste in clothing and fashion … and I’d better stop it now.

I feel like I haven’t been home for ages, because so many things have changed, new clubs and cafés opened, altered, so I also have to grow familiar with all these new things again. But do not think I am loiter away my time, last week I went out 4 times. Just to catch up a little bit.
Juci, one of my really good friends ensnare me last Friday. She went into raptures over this place called Süss fel nap (Sun rise up!) where I used to go a lot when I was 16, because the best hardcore concerts were always there. But for 3 years it has given a place to hip-hop and funky events. If you know me good, you would never run into that error to ask me to go for such a party. But she did it good. She said a new band would play that night and I would love them. So I went. As we entered much to my astonishment I could hear ‘ I am still Jenny from the block ’ shouted by thousands around me. I was gagged.
After pumping myself up with some champagne I found myself on the stage where a couple of boys and girls danced together. I tried to catch the beat and thoroughly observed how the others dance. As this is not the type of music I prefer it took me a while to master my moves, but I could say at the end we put rings round the others. I realized the most important thing is to shake your butt, and do it with a lot of feeling.
From that time, I’m busily visiting hip-hop parties as well, but my love towards rock music and trance music has not changed.

So it’s time to announce a great concert coming up on 30th Martz, 2003: GUANO APES. Tickets can be ordered from: www.prolog.hu
Guano Apes is a German band (oh well) with a female lead-singer. ‘Even if Courtney Love sang with Primus or Patti Smith with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the GUANO APES style could never be completely captured.’ claims Subway magazine.
Check out more about them: www.guanoapes.org

I would like to recommend two places in Budapest that I gladly visit:
Champs Sport Club
This new pub is a haunt mostly for sportsmen/women and gamesome people. It’s really easy to hook up with some nice guys or girls here. The food is fantastic and there is always something going on.

Teapalota (Tea castle)
This is really a lovely place to spend a couple of hours with your friends sipping some delicious tea. Only the smell can enchant you and get you to stick around hours and hours.

Another big event coming up this year again MAYDAY : 03.29.2003

I should not forget to mention a very congenial band Wishing Hour. I happened to know CiCi, cicithe leader of the band for 3 years or even more. Our friendship started in some Yahoo chatroom. For me it is kinda weird having friends from chatting, but sometimes it happens too.
So Wishing Hour is a five-piece (essentially) metal band from Cardiff, Wales. The band has been together for two and a half years and is comprised of CiCi (vox) Sam (bass) Aaron (Drums) Beth (Guitars) and James (more guitars). They have a unique sound, with a repertoire that spans from extremely emotive melodic rock to the heaviest kind of metal – without having expanding into the realms of death-metal or cheese. They are influenced by bands such as System of a Down, My Ruin, Otep, Amen, Pantera, Muse, and melodic artists like Kate Bush and Tori Amos. They have recorded three demos so far, two of which represent the changes in sound the band went through in the first year and a half. The third is a final representation of the sound they’re after.

This year unfortunately no snowboarding for me, so no crazy and slide-splitting stories.
But it surely gladdens everyone’s heart that I finally bought the cell phone for which I thirsted so long ago.

And now that everyone is rejoicing, I sneak away and come back soon with some frantically crazy stories.
Hugs,
Kata
