My Silent Grudge to the American Government

Hey There,

Mar here from your friendly neighbour to the North, Canada! Hello my fellow Human beings. Ok, as a Canadian I’d just like to do a little rant about the war and such. First off it really irks me how the American government is mad at Canada for not helping them in their war with Iraq. Well, excuse me! Last time I checked we were our own country entitled to our own opinions separate from any other country’s (and ahem, where was the USA for the first few years of WW2??? Huh?). Secondly, I wish the US army would stop killing innocent Iraqi people because you’re pissed off at one man, who apparently has weapons of mass destruction. I am not a Saddam Hussein supporter. I think he has done horrific things in his life and I would like to see him out of power. but I just don’t think it is right to risk the lives of so many innocent Iraqi civilians to get at Saddam. I agree with Alisha’s comments “War is stupid and people are stupid and love means nothing” I played that song (by Culture Club) on my radio show. Oh yeah, on a lighter note I’m hosting my own national radio show on CBC Radio 2! Ooh, it’s so exciting. Except my show airs midnight – 4AM on Saturday and Sunday nites, and I don’t know how many people listen to the radio at 3:30AM Monday morning. Ha. The show is called Radio On. So if you live in Canada or just south of the border you can here it on CBC Radio 2. I have been so stressed with this new job, doing 8 hours of radio a week is a LOT of programming for one lil’ person such as myself. Boo!

Oh yeah, I haven’t done much in the past 7 weeks because I broke my hand. Boo! (See picture). It’s out of the cast and all better now, but now my body feels like a big blob of glutton because I’m totally out of shape. I haven’t been able to play drums or bass or ride my bike. All the stuff I do which helps me stay fit. It sucks. And it wasn’t even my fault it was someone else’s fault I got hurt. See I was riding my bike along when this dude in a car decided to swerve into a parking spot right in front of me without signaling. I ended hitting his hub cap off his car and crashing on the ground. It was very painful. I’d never broken a bone before. An ambulance came and took me to the hospital (same one I was born at) and it was my first time back since then. Anyway, I’m done being a gimp I’m back to normal and ready to play shows. The Ewoks (my band) have 2 shows coming up this month. We’re playing one with Stinkmitt www.stinkmitt.com and Gravy Train www.rapbitches.comfrom San Francisco. This show is going to be HOTT! Both Gravy Train and Stinkmitt basically only sing about SEX and the opposite SEX (or maybe not the opposite. depends) anyway, the Ewoks are in for a night of raunchy ass lyrics. We’re shaking in our fur. Ha. Oh and Johnny Marr is coming May 1st!! I am so excited, the Smiths are my favourite band of all time so hopefully I’ll get to interview him for CBC and meet him and tell him my name is his last name. Woo. Hahaha. I’m a dork. I think I need to go eat some food.

April 11 – The Soundtrack of Our Lives @ the Commodore
