Reunion with an Old Friend
Hey all you Coolgrrls! Well, back into action, can’t wait for the summer to begin. Shows, shows, shows galore. Recently went to see Devils Junction live… pretty good show. They’ve got a new website, check it out! www.devilsjunction.com. I think we should be hearing some good stuff from these guys over the summer.
Music music music… Boobie Trap was nominated for best punk band in Orange County. We didn’t win, but I did have a great time at the awards show. Got to see Dick Dale play, Walter Trout, and some guy (can’t remember his name) but he had his two sons on stage and his wife singing back up. It was THE BEST show. There were other performers like Wonderlove, and Ashley Bee (???) – it was a long night and was a lot of fun. I got to see my old friend Commie Girl from OC WEEKLY magazine… she was lookin’ good! But, WE LOST! As well as did the GoLords. The winning band was called something like … shoot… I can’t remember. I guess it wasn’t that important… lol
As far as Boobie Trap goes, we have amicably parted ways. I’ve started a new band and am having my first show coming up in June. I have gone through the ringer with this band break up thing. You know, I honestly think that I’ve never broken up with a man and been so emotionally run out. I think maybe the other girls will understand when I say that being in a band is like having numerous boyfriends at the same time, all in the same room- all wanting the same thing from you. The only bonus is “if you’re lucky” you make money while you’re there, you don’t have to sleep with any of them or cook for them (not that I cook anyway!). But when you leave, it hurts like hell. I guess they’ve got a new singer, and I wish them luck. But anyway, I am excited about starting my own thing, excited to play and cannot wait to get myself back on the stage. I am hoping to have a new album by the end of year, if I can afford it… hehe.
TV…TV…TV… Gotten a lot of fan mail from the Wild On E! episode, and I have to say that it was SO fun to do! I only hope it wasn’t my 15 minutes of fame wrapped into one episode…lol Thanks for all the well wishers and “just to say hi” emails!
I’m happy to kiss the Winters butt GOODBYE and get back out into the night life- so, be prepared for summer shows galore. I’ll see you there!
As far as the promise about Staurgirl clothing… I’ve been keeping up with Staurgirl clothing, and it seems that Heather is doing well for herself. We’d like to help her welcome her new little baby into our world. She will be the most fashionably dressed little girl in Orange County. Staurgirl clothing is making a statement in different magazines such as Cosmo & also have been donned by Shakira and others. We wish Staurgirl all the luck in the world. Welcome to our world baby!!!!
