I am back on track, still have not saved the world, but I am here with tons of things to share.
First of all some basic things you might have to know.
1. I turned 22 yippie-yeah!
2. I got a new car, which is red for a change again!
3. Started to write my dissertation on the effects of the Media.
4. The Sopranos became my favorite series.
5. I work fulltime at the Graduate School of Business as Student Services Assistant and we organize a lot of student parties!
6. I have been to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt for a vacation with my beloved girlies. Check out the pictures here.
7. Long Island Ice Tea is still my favorite cocktail.
So let’s get started now. Our party-commando had a joy-ride about 500 metres and carried the town of Budapest. Whereas none of us visits family, relatives or friends this weekend it was high time to practice our disco-critical job in town. FESZEK CLUB (Nest Club) seemed to be a great starting-point. We arrive at 11:00 p.m. and stand around in the main drift, which is in the open space of the club, but revetted for the winter. It’s 11:25 p.m. and we are still alone, already after the second coke-unicum when we let some phone calls fly. It turns out we accidentally named Fáklya Club (Torch Club) for the locals and our photo guy, that’s why they are stupidly spinning around somewhere in the neighborhood. But now all the misunderstandings are cleared up and finally the group is together.
DOKK: We wanted to first test Óbuda (part of Budapest) and its surroundings, so we drove to the tried and true DOKK, at the Hajógyári Sziget (Island). However at the entrance this little board welcomed us, which said: CLOSED. So we drove to the Island only to have to reverse and turn around, like all the others who had either also looked for the DOKK or who came to the Island only for the reason to reverse and turn back. Later we found out that DOKK is open only on every second Friday, when BED is closed. And by hook or crook today neither is a second week, nor a Friday. So the new hype can come, the foresaid BED. It was already suspicious that the securities shepherded us with glow-sticks to the snowed field – somehow we could not fit into the VIP parking lot, next to the Audis and Mercedes’ – and after the sight of the suited and ear-plugged securities and the metal-detector gates, we were almost sure: it won’t be easy to get in. So briefly: the entrance fee is 2000 HUF, inside – in case you get that far – is a huge dancefloor, a mighty and handsome Buddha statue, round that two-story- tribune runs if you only want to gaze around. Maybe too many grizzlies, who confidently overrides us, but seemingly this doesn’t bother the others, because the place was totally packed. Okay, this can be acceptable, but the fact that the grizzlies’ bunnies overrode us without a word of apologizing as well, was a little too much for our sensitive/tender souls. So we gave up this project and put ourselves back in the car again and drove to another nowadays very trendy place called HOME. After quite a while of driving, we finally found the place, but since the parking lot was barely empty, we decided on moving along – maybe today was strictly a walker party. (More likely it was simply closed, cuz both HOME and the other trendy Pacha Bar only opens if there is a big-time event. So it’s really worth to look at Pesti Est before you get in the car.
As the weather is getting better everyone seems to pull out their motorbikes and ride around the city. I would do the same if I had a bike, but for all of our sake the International Harley Davidson Festival is coming up from 10th June – 13th June.
There’s no chance that I would miss this event. Bikers visit from all over the world and even though you don’t have a thing to ride you can always get a ride from someone.
