Dirty Jenny – Introduction
Hey Beautiful People!
My name is Jen Leigh, but most people call me dirty jenny. As a guitarist, I’ve recorded, toured, & performed with a long list of really cool, diverse artists. Funk & rock are my passions. I have also done scoring work for videos, short films, & a web series entitled, ‘Medallion Mondays’. Originally from Hartford, CT, I currently live in Los Angeles, CA.
As a solo artist, I released an EP called ‘American Bulldog’ in September 2011. One week later I tore the hell out of my meniscus & required arthroscopic knee surgery. On October 15, the day I was supposed to fly to Detroit to perform with George Clinton & 420 Funk Mob, I had surgery instead. Welcome to my world.
As of this writing I am near completion of physical therapy, but must continue the work on my own for months to come in order to heal properly. This experience has been a challenging one, especially for someone who lives to be on stage. I am grateful to be on the healing path & look forward to rocking out in 2012 wherever I can!
Outside of music, I am the hugest MMA fan/advocate you’ll ever meet, in addition to being obsessed with the american bulldog breed, hence the name of my EP. I have a gorgeous 19 month old american bulldog named Spiral who is 85 lbs of pure love.
I’m excited for the opportunity to write a column here on coolgrrrls. I look forward to connecting with new people and sharing stories.

Sorry to hear about your knee.
I’ve enjoyed your work. So, my little girl (11) – who is a an amazing little creature – is about to get a Squire Bullet. Knowing what you know now, what would you say to your 11 year old self?
My little girl knows how to play the Cello. But the guitar is most certainly new. She loves that her Daddy plays a bit (most certainly, I”m not in your league) but this will be knew.
