Introducing my Band Members

Yes, I’m back…as you all knew I would be! After spending the entire summer drunk on rum and pineapple juice, I have been hibernating in my apartment trying to give my liver a much needed rest. But isn’t that was summers are for? Having fun and partying till dawn? I mean, especially in Manhattan where parties don’t even BEGIN... Continue »

Meeting Julia Cameron

Inspiration. It seems like a lost gift these days. We often regurgitate other peoples ideas, dreams, and try to make them our own. Yes, I am guilty of it too. Before I moved to New York, one of my childhood friends ranted and raved about a book titled, “The Artist’s Way.” She told me how “inspirited” she became after... Continue »

Another Night in the Hamptons

Oh, just another night in the Hamptons….. This summer has gone by faster than any summer I can remember. Just last week I was whining about how I hadn’t gone to the Hampton’s once! However, that all changed yesterday. I anxiously boarded the Long Island Railroad at Penn Station to meet up with friend and fellow singer/songwriter Beth (a.k.a... Continue »

Adventurous Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend was definitely adventurous. My mom, Alyce, and I spent her first night at 7A in the East Village, a twenty-four hour downtown diner. The next day we shopped at Beacon’s Closet and indulged in a quaint lunch at Miyako in Williamsburg. We also had refreshing cocktails over at Oznot’s Dish in the neighborhood. A few hours later... Interesting Weeks

Yessserree bob, these last few weeks have definitely been interesting! The punk rock karaoke party over at Alice and Michelle’s was yet another success. Over in Williamsburg, the following weekend, a group of Brooklyn gals met up at my place for a rather unique photo-shoot. The afternoon started off with mimosas and omelets, then we went on a beer... Cabaret Awesome as Usual

“What good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the music play….Life is a Cabaret ol’ chum, come hear the Cabaret!” I made it the second to last performance by Molly Ringwald as the indomitable Sally Bowles in the theatrical musical “Cabaret” at Studio 54. Red lights glowed on little cabaret tables in the legendary discotheque turned theater... Continue »

It ain’t over till it’s...

The Last Five Years is based on a relationship that has come to an end and how the former couple is dealing with the breakup. Each and every line during the show is sung by the two characters. Both leads have strong vocal abilities, however, I would have like to have heard a few of the scenes in a... Continue »

New York is full of Celebs

Greetings from the Big Apple. Sometimes you’re reminded of what an interesting town you live in by some of the fascinating and famous people you bump into here in New York City. A few weekends ago, I went to see the opening of Kembra Pfahler’s show at a Chelsea gallery. This performance artist/musician from the infamous band, The Voluptuous... Continue »

Sick of Winter

Yeah, Spring is almost here. Ever since I moved from Burbank to New York, (almost seven years ago in August) the winter has been difficult to get used to. Mind you, it has been mild these last two years, but 18 degree weather does not suit me well to say the least. I’ve actually been quite sick for the... Continue »

Can’t Wait for Spring

Hello my lovelies! Hope all is well with everyone these days. Are you looking forward to spring as much as I am? I love taking walks so I can’t wait to be able to do that again. That is something I miss about Ohio. There are Indian trails all over the state & you can just walk and walk... Continue »

February Girl

February has been a pretty wild month. It all started when Lucky from the New York Waste asked me to be her February girl. The night of our photo-shoot, Lucky drew a lovely bubble bath for me and yours truly indulged in some refreshing Moet White Star champagne. Last week the February issue of the Waste arrived in Williamsburg... Continue »

I Enjoyed the Holidays

I’m wishing you all a belated Happy New Year, and an early happy Valentine’s Day! I began 2002 with ten days of bliss on a Caribbean island. Nevis is a beautiful and remote place with mountains, rain forests and amazing white sand beaches. Tropical drinks, friends and family, a little reggae music, and lots of novels read under a... The New Version of Angry Jellow Bubbles

The time has come to hold auditions for the new version of Angry Jellow Bubbles. The run will be held at New Dance Group Theatre located at 257 W 47th St-across the street from the Majestic Theatre. This run is not only exciting because of the location (we are among all the big Broadway shows) but also because this... Continue »

Book Reading and Related Stuff

Hello my daffodils, how are we doing? Yes, once again I am back for your entertainment. Did you miss me? I’ve been lazy about updating as my mind has been elsewhere. I think I’m lacking vitamins. Or maybe I just have Attention Deficit Disorder. I tested for that in High School, but I never finished taking the exam which... Continue »

Holidays so Soon

Well, holiday time is here and many of us are riding the roller coaster of mixed emotions, and sugar highs and lows from all of those sweet treats. Anxious? Poor? Frazzled? Well, stick with me kids, and I’ve got a few ideas to raise your level of mirth without raising your blood pressure. Number One on my list of... Continue »

Angry Jellow Bubbles

Geez, it is hard to believe it’s already December. Time flies when you are having fun! I’ve actually been working extremely hard lately, but it’s been a real blast. If you’ve read Kiki’s latest update, you’ve probably heard about the Angry Jellow Bubbles show I’ve been a part of. There are ten of us “Bubbles” and in each show... Continue »

Shockers at Broadway

This weekend, I saw ten women totally exposed, in a new off-Broadway show . This theater experience is called Angry Jellow Bubbles. Now don’t get me wrong, by exposed I mean that they reveal their honest, funny, sad, joyous, and angry experiences of being a woman. The actresses tell their true-life stories via a mixture of singing, speaking, movement,... Continue »

I Just Love the Big Apple

Hi, Remember me? It’s Kiki. I’ve been in a bit of funk since the terrible events of September. Listening to The Strokes’ new album *does* cheer me up. You can read my review of this great musical find on our Sizzling CD’s page. New York is still alive and glorious even in these tough times. I went dressed as... Continue »

Spotlight on Las Vegas

SPOTLIGHT ON LAS VEGAS: FROM THE BROWN-BAGGERS AT THE GOLD SPIKE TO O AT THE BELLAGIO Friday night just before midnight, my sister Holly met me at the Las Vegas airport. She suggested we stop by the Bellagio Hotel and visit the indoor garden. Within a few minutes, we wandered over to the nickel slot machines where Holly began... Continue »

Healing in New York City

I apologize to you all for not writing sooner from Manhattan since the tragedy, but this has been the longest week of shock, tears, anger, sorrow, hope and love. I have felt and seen it all and still find it very difficult to express. But I was inspired by Guliani’s request for New Yorkers to get back in the... Continue »
